MICE Events in Malaga, Spain: The Audiovisual Side
Searching for MICE events in Malaga, Spain, usually means someone who has to hold a meeting, an incentive, a conference or an exhibition here and wants to know what the destination offers and what the technical side involves. MICE stands for meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions. This page gives the figures that matter, the main venues and what we supply, what we source with partners and what we do not do.
Malaga Event Gear (MEG) supplies audiovisual equipment and a technician for corporate events across Malaga and the wider Costa del Sol. We are not a venue, a destination management company, an event agency or an organizer. Our part of an event is the one covered by our event technology service, where you can see the rest of what we offer.
Brief Overview
Malaga is an established destination for meetings: a report prepared for the Malaga Convention Bureau counted 2,190 meetings in the city in 2024, with 323,100 attendees. Malaga Event Gear supplies the audiovisual side of a MICE event: the MICE Pack and the Basic MICE Pack, a technician who operates the sound and the microphones, and optional extras such as a lectern and modular stage platforms. Interpretation equipment, group hotels and anything outside our own inventory go through partners and suppliers.

Why Malaga Works for MICE Events
The size of the market is the first thing to check. A report prepared for the Malaga Convention Bureau counted 2,190 meetings in the city in 2024, with 323,100 attendees in total. Corporate conventions and professional events were more than 80% of them, congresses 9.3% and incentives 8.2%. The average congress had more than 300 delegates, and 69.7% of all attendees came from outside the province, so most delegates need travel and a hotel.
Access is the second check. Malaga airport closed 2025 with 26,760,549 passengers, according to AENA. That figure counts every traveler and not only business ones, so read it as a sign of how reachable the destination is.
The weather is the third. The AEMET climate normals for the Malaga airport station, for 1981 to 2010, list 2,905 hours of sunshine a year and mean temperatures of 12.1 degrees Celsius in January and 25.5 in July. They are old normals, so use them as an orientation and check the forecast for your dates.
Main Venues for Meetings and Congresses
These are the venues organizers name most often. The capacities are the venues' own, so confirm them with the venue for your layout, because they change with the arrangement of the room.
- FYCMA, the Malaga trade fair and congress center. Its sustainability report lists two exhibition pavilions with 19,500 square meters, an auditorium for up to 900 people and another for 600.
- Palacio de Congresos y Exposiciones de Torremolinos. Its main room, the Sala Torremolinos, holds 817 people in total, 491 with working tables and 326 without, and has booths for simultaneous interpretation into five languages.
- Palacio de Congresos de Marbella. Its own site lists an auditorium of 1,520 seats and 10,000 square meters of surface.
- Hotel convention centers on the Costa del Sol. Many congresses and summits are held in the meeting rooms of a hotel. We worked at one in Torremolinos, described below.
We are not affiliated with any of these venues. We deliver to them like any other address in our service area.
What the Venue Gives You and What You Bring
A venue's own equipment list is where to start. The Torremolinos palace, for example, lists its interpretation booths, and it is normal that a room has some sound and some screens of its own. Before you hire anything, ask the venue three things: which sound, screens and microphones are included, who operates them and what has to be brought from outside.
The second answer matters most. A room with equipment and nobody to run it leaves the speaker alone with a microphone, while a technician who knows the equipment solves a fault in the middle of a session. Whoever you choose, agree who calls whom if something fails, and give that person the schedule of the sessions.
What We Supply at a MICE Event
Our own inventory covers the common needs of a corporate meeting or a congress:
- The MICE Pack at 490 euros ex VAT, for up to 120 guests: professional active speakers, a 60 inch LED display, one gooseneck plus one wireless handheld microphone and a technician on site for up to 6 hours. A lectern is an optional extra at 50 euros and modular stage platforms are 35 euros per square meter. An extra hour of the technician is 40 euros.
- The Basic MICE Pack at 295 euros ex VAT, for up to 40 guests: a projector with a screen, a sound system and one gooseneck microphone. The technician is optional at 240 euros per day.
The technician operates the sound and the microphones and solves a fault with the sound, the projector or the screen. The speaker runs their own slides. For a room or a guest list beyond what these packs cover, tell us the room and the program, and we check what we can supply from our own inventory and what we would source.
What We Source With Partners
A MICE event often needs things we do not have, and this is how we handle them:
- Simultaneous interpretation and voting systems. We do not own this equipment. We coordinate it with a subcontracted partner, so we do not promise a specific model or a price until we have checked.
- Group hotels. Delegates from outside Malaga need somewhere to stay. For group bookings, our partner Top Group Express has years of experience reserving hotels for groups, working with the agencies, DMCs and companies that organize a delegation's travel. We handle the sound and the screens, they handle the rooms.
- Streaming, hybrid events and video walls. These are not in our own inventory. Tell us what you need and we look for a solution with our suppliers, if there is one.
The rest of the event, such as the venue, the catering, registration and any team building activity, is for your organizer or agency. We are the audiovisual part of it.
Real MICE Setups We've Delivered
For the PROGOLD SUMMIT 2026, held from 20 to 23 May 2026 at the Hotel Melia Costa del Sol convention center in Torremolinos, we supplied lighting, sound, screens and projection, with wireless and gooseneck microphones, over four days.

On 19 and 20 May 2026 we supported Bmotion in Marbella, and on 22 and 23 May Bmotion in Benahavis. At FYCMA, we supplied the display screens for the exhibitor stands at ECOC 2026, from 20 to 24 September 2026.
Where We Deliver and How to Book
We are based in Malaga and deliver across the Costa del Sol: Marbella, Fuengirola, Torremolinos, Benalmadena, Estepona, Mijas, Ronda and Nerja are all in our service area, and we also serve Sevilla with no minimum order. Granada needs a booking over 400 euros to cover the single day travel.

FAQs
What does MICE stand for?
MICE stands for meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions. In practice it covers corporate meetings, company incentive trips, congresses and trade fairs. Our part is the audiovisual side of any of them: sound, a display or a projector, microphones and a technician.
Does Malaga Event Gear organize MICE events in Malaga?
No. We supply the audiovisual equipment and a technician. We are not a venue, a destination management company or an event agency, and we do not organize team building. Your organizer or agency handles the rest, and we work with them on the technical side. For group hotels we work with our partner Top Group Express.
Which package suits a corporate meeting or a congress?
The MICE Pack, at 490 euros ex VAT, is for up to 120 guests and includes a 60 inch LED display, a gooseneck and a wireless handheld microphone and a technician for up to 6 hours. The Basic MICE Pack, at 295 euros ex VAT, is for up to 40 guests. For a bigger room, tell us the layout and the program.
Can you provide simultaneous interpretation for a congress?
Not with our own equipment. We coordinate interpretation with a subcontracted partner, so we do not publish a model or a price. Tell us the languages, the number of listeners and the room, and we check with the partner. Some venues also have interpretation booths, so ask the venue as well.
Can you deliver to any venue in Malaga, Marbella or Torremolinos?
Yes, within our service area, which includes Malaga, the Costa del Sol and Sevilla, and Granada for bookings over 400 euros. We have worked at a hotel convention center in Torremolinos and at FYCMA. Check loading access and venue rules with the venue before the day, and contact us with the address.
